Clinical Coach ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by the creator of clinicalcoachapp.com, a practicing PA-C. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use Clinical Coach at clinicalcoachapp.com ("the app" or "the service").

By using Clinical Coach, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Email address. If you choose to provide your email address (to save your progress, receive updates, or subscribe to our newsletter), we store it securely. Providing your email is optional — you can use the free Emergency Medicine rotation without any account.

Usage data. We collect anonymous analytics about how the app is used, including which rotations and difficulty levels are selected, session counts, and feature interactions. This data does not contain personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve the product.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, billing address, or any payment details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.

Progress data. If you provide your email, we store your XP, streak, session count, and level in a secure database to enable progress sync across devices. This data is tied to your email address.

Clinical Coach uses Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic, to generate clinical questions and answers. Your topic inputs (e.g., "chest pain," "sepsis") are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. We do not send your email address or personal information to Anthropic. Please review Anthropic's Privacy Policy for information on how they handle API data.

We retain your email and progress data for as long as you have an active account or subscription. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it within 30 days. Analytics data is anonymized and retained for up to 30 days on a rolling basis.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

Clinical Coach uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to save your progress, preferences, and session state locally on your device. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you provide your email to enable sync.

7. Children's Privacy

Clinical Coach is intended for use by medical, PA, and NP students who are typically 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@clinicalcoachapp.com.

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure HTTPS connections, encrypted data storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You may request to access, update, or delete your personal data at any time by contacting us at hello@clinicalcoachapp.com. If you are in the EU or California, you may have additional rights under GDPR or CCPA respectively.
